Why Guided Movement Creates Stronger Portraits (tips from the frontlines of photography).

Clients freeze. They get stuck in their heads and become stiff. They want to capture their most authentic, professional, bold, present self, but when the lens is lifts up in front of the clients face, things change. Not for everybody. Some people come alive in these moments. But most of us, find ourselves a bit stuck under the weight of self-consciousness when that camera is obviously present.

For this set of pictures the client wanted engaging, bold branding work, but she, herself was a little more shy and reserved. Guided micro movements not only helped create some kick a$$ pictures here, but they also allowed some space for the client to relax and have some fun while the focus was on her.
